The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Rodiek as the main initiator has proposed the project together with its parent company, Nehlsen AG, and its sister company, Nehlsen Ambiente Angola. During the course of the project, other local Angolan NGO’s will be involved.
Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety
The “Environmental Technologies Export Initiative” of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, launched in 2016, disseminates and strengthens knowledge about and the application of environmental and climate protection technologies as well as innovative (green) infrastructure in countries in need of support. Within the framework of targeted, substantial projects, the necessary framework conditions for a sustainable application of environmental technologies are to be created.
Nehlsen AG, with its subsidiaries in Germany, Eastern Europe and on the African continent, is one of the ten largest waste management companies in Germany. Nehlsen currently employs around 2,800 people.
Nehlsen stands for reliable, efficient and customer-oriented services in the fields of recycling and logistics. Rodiek wants to bring its claim of providing individual and sustainable solutions for people and the environment for a future worth living, to countries that were previously overburdened with the disposal of their waste. Rodiek faces up to this social responsibility and has set itself the goal of constructively contributing its expertise and experience in order to strengthen the avoidance and recycling of waste on a global level. Therefore, the successful implementation of EcoLu is for Rodiek a first step towards a stronger commitment in the whole region.
